Pillow Lamp is the latest project from experimental designers Thing Thing. Fabricated by the artists in their Detroit studio, it is the result of a long exploration into the industrial process of rotational molding. Made from HDPE plastic formed in handmade aluminum molds, each lamp has a unique pattern of wrinkles and creases. The lamp's kickstand is a copper pipe that has been reclaimed from a local scrapyard and polished by hand to a bright sheen. An LED bulb allows the lamp to stay lit for over 25,000 hours. Pillow Lamp is a beautiful addition to any bedside table, desk, or dark corner and shines with a warm, mysterious glow.
About the design team: ThingThing is a manufacturing studio practicing in Detroit. Established in 2012, ThingThing designs processes to work intuitively with materials and methods usually reserved for industrial production. And through this unique authorship develop their sensibilities as a practice. ThingThing makes experimental design for exhibitions, collectors, and consumers. We are four bold designers who are inspired to playfully reconsider design. We love beautiful things. We love to make beautiful things. We love to make things that make beautiful things.

California architect and designer Alice Park combines style and simplicity with her line of minimalist leather goods.
Many of the goods feature a single pattern of leather that has been folded into the finished product. Contrasting color thread is stitched in just enough places to hold cards and currency secure.
Each piece is crafted from fine leather by a skilled husband-and-wife workroom in Los Angeles. The leather has been selected for its qualities that allow the goods to remain unlined in an effort to pare down the design to a bare minimum yet retain an understated identity.
